Karen Benton extracts and distils from the urban environment, manipulating materials to create dialogue between surface and space. Karen aims to provoke an aura of suggestion through her exploration and abstraction of the conceal/reveal dichotomy.
Karen is a Sydney based, multi-disciplinary artist working across painting, digital and print media, photography, soft sculpture and installation. Her background is in both science and digital design, with a BSc(Hons) in Science from UNSW and a Diploma in Visual Arts from the International School of Colour & Design. She is currently majoring in painting at SCA.
